I never knew that there would such be a law such as the Megan's Law. I believe that this is a very useful act to prevent our loved ones, especially children from sex offenders that lurk behind on what seemed to be a peaceful and "harm- free" area. The act focuses on information such as the whereabouts of the sex offender on a certain state. The Megan's Law originated from a poor 7 year old girl Megan Kanka who was kidnapped, raped, and brutally murdered by a repeat sexual offender and a Phedophile, Jesse Temmendequas. Temmendequas was living near with the Kankas in Hamilton Township, New Jersey.
