NERI AT SSS?
Believe me, one of the things that I hate most during my tenure at our company is to look at my payslip. Aside from the disputes that might arise from incorrect log-ins, it pains me to see again those "all-time" mandatory deductions. Whether we like it or not, it will forever be there, slashing your gross pay. The withholding tax and Pag-ibig gets almost two thousand bucks from my earnings. Ooops, I almost forgot. Including the deductions is the Social Security System (SSS). That two thousand bucks would have sufficed my internet addiction. -sigh-
I've read from a certain periodical that the current SSS administrator resigned from her post. Corazon de la Paz, whom I've heard as a woman of great leadership and reforms submitted her resignation last June.
During those 7 years of her administration it was said that de la Paz was able to raise good funds for the said institution. A bright woman indeed.
What scares me now is the thought of Romulo Neri replacing her post. Not to be biased here, I believe that Romulo NEri was "somehow" able to manage NEDA very well until the ZTE scandal plunged into controversy.
I can't stand to see someone whose integrity has been questioned and doubted to spearhead such institution. I might not be well versed with the yada yadas of SSS or what can it benefit me but as a payer, I am also concerned.
We might not know what the real picture behind the resignation and replacement was but I do hope that they would act and think for the benefit of all and not just for selfish reasons.
