The Road to Success is not straight: There is a curve called failure, a loop called confusion, speed bumps called friends, caution lights called family, and you will have flats called jobs. But, if you have a spare called determination, an engine called perseverance, insurance called faith, and a driver called God, you will make it to a place called success!

DUBAI CRAZINESS!!!!!!!!!!!

Dubai in 1990 prior to the craziness

The same street in 2003

last year...

The madness. Dubai is said to currently have 15-25% of all the world's cranes

The Dubai Waterfront. When completed it will become the largest waterfront development in the world

All of this was built in the last 5 years, including that island that looks like a palm tree.

The Palm Islands in Dubai. New Dutch dredging technology was used to create these massive man made islands. They are the largest artificial islands in the world and can be seen from space. Three of these Palms will be made with the last one being the largest of them all.

Upon completion, the resort will have 2,000 villas, 40 luxury hotels, shopping centers, movie theaters, and many other facilities. It is expected to support a population of approximately 500,000 people. It is advertised as being visible from the moon.

The World Islands . 300 artificially created islands in the shape of the world. Each island will have an estimated cost of $25-30 million.

The Burj al-Arab hotel in Dubai . The worlds tallest hotel. Considered the only '7 star' hotel and the most luxurious hotel in the world. It stands on an artificial island in the sea.

Hydropolis, the world's first underwater hotel. Entirely built in Germany and then assembled inDubai, it is scheduled to be completed by 2009 after many delays.

The Burj Dubai. Construction began in 2005 and is expected to be complete by 2008. At an estimated height of over 800 meters, it will easily be world's tallest building when finished. It will be almost 40% taller than the the current tallest building, the Taipei 101.

This is what downtown Dubai will look like around 2008-2009. More than 140 stories of the Burj Dubai have already been completed. It is already the worlds tallest man made structure and it is still not scheduled to be completed for at least another year.

The Al Burj. This will be the centerpiece of the Dubai Waterfront. Once completed it will take over the title of the tallest structure in the world from the Burj Dubai.

Recently it was announced that the final height of this tower will be 1200 meters.
That would make it more than 30% taller than the Burj Dubai and three times as tall as the Empire State Building.

The Burj al Alam, or The World Tower. Upon completion it will rank as the world's highest hotel. It is expected to be finished by 2009. At 480 meters it will only be 28 meters shorter than theTaipei 101.

The Trump International Hotel & Tower, which will be the centerpiece of one of the palm islands, The Palm Jumeirah.

Dubailand. Currently, the largest amusement park collection in the world is Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando , which is also the largest single-site employer in the United states with 58,000 employees. Dubailand will be twice the size.

Currently, the Walt Disney World Resort is the #1 tourist destination in the world. Once fully completed, Dubailand will easily take over that title since it is expected to attract 200,000 visitors daily.

Dubai Sports City . A huge collection of sports arenas located in Dubailand.

Currently, the Walt Disney World Resort is the #1 tourist destination in the world. Once fully completed, Dubailand will easily take over that title since it is expected to attract 200,000 visitors daily.

The Dubai Marina is an entirely man made development that will contain over 200 highrise buildings when finished. It will be home to some of the tallest residential structures in the world. The completed first phase of the project is shown. Most of the other high rise buildings will be finished by 2009-2010.

The Dubai Mall will be the largest shopping mall in the world with over 9 million square feet of shopping and around 1000 stores. It will be completed in 2008.

Ski Dubai , which is already open, is the largest indoor skiing facility in the world. This is a rendered image of another future indoor skiing facility that is being planned.

Some of the tallest buildings in the world, such as Ocean Heights and The Princess Tower , which will be the largest residential building in the world at over a 100 stories, will line the DubaiMarina.

The UAE Spaceport would be the first spaceport in the world if construction ever gets under way. I'm not joking...
Some other craziness . The Dubai Metro system, once completed, will become the largest fully automated rail system in the world. The Dubai World Central International Airport will become the largest airport in size when it is completed. It will also eventually become the busiest airport in the world, based on passenger volume. T here are more construction workers in Dubai than there are actual citizens.

kung hei fat choy!

REMEMBERING OUR SUMMER CLASS

It's been two years since we had our very memorable summer sessions. The curricculum that we were mandated to take on a summer was called Feasibility Study. This is actually the continuation of our Market Acceptability Analysis. In this subject we are now to establish a business based on the success of the acceptance of the public on the proposed product (I really don't know how to make it simple so just please bear with me.)

So here's our product....

(I would like to say thanks to Adobe Photoshop for doing such a good job. Actually I was the one who made the design through this wonderful software)

Ever since the group was formed. We were already four. I'm the only male on the group but I think it didn't make any difference at all... haha! We were excited yet a bit apprehensive because the specialist that would be handling the class was infamously known as a Terror Professor. We were excited because we were determined to get the Best Feasibility Study and we were scared as well because this professor is really fond of embarassing students in front of the class.

As the class progressed through the first month, I can say that our sessions ran smoothly. Everything was okay and we were able to accomplish what our professor instructed us to do. However, there was an event that really made it remember. We were asked to search for a model of a place to establish our business. Since we are a manufacturing business, we have to search for a warehouse. We were able to do so however we're not too sure if we can take some pictures. My teammate got a crazy idea and this is what she suggested...

I took the picture of the place with them so the guards won't suspect!!! hahaha!

That day was really funny....

The final weeks were approcaching and I'm happy to say that so far we're keeping up on track. We will be able to finish our FS I thought-even if I had anxiety disorder at that time. Yeah, my anxiety disorder made its grand debut during the last weeks of our summer class. It's really hard but I was able or should I say We were able to survive despite of the things that had happened.

Our group did not win the best feasibilty study but at least we knew that ours was one of the candidates for such recognition. We fought the good fight at least...

Graduation has passed and we had our own lives now. We might not be able to see each other everyday but I'm happy because the memories of the old good times stayed. I'll be really missing these people whom I shared almost a fraction of the years that I've stayed as a college student. I will never forget the perseverance, the connections a.k.a. resources (hmmm. haha), the hardship and of course, the fun.

I'm so happy and proud that I had this group....

Me (mico), Maricar, Kit, and Orchid.

I already miss you guys!!!!!!!! Let's have our product patented!!!!!!!!

IF YOU DO WANT A COPY OF THIS FEASIBILITY STUDY JUST MESSAGE ME OR SEND SMS.....

HAHA JUST KIDDING!

MELANCHOLY AND CONFUSION

This week had been very very hard for me. There were situations that I had just encountered for the first time. Indeed life is the best learning ground. You won't know what's gonna happen as your journey goes. It's really difficult for me to do this post as emotions surge through out my inner being.... mixed emotions actually. I do not deny the fact that i'm struggling from my sexuality and I accept who am I right now. I admit, I do engage and explore on some things like trying to mingle with someone who's having the same preferences. I even joined a community dedicated for such. I meet someone and they do ask for my number but I've never met one.

Absurd as it may seem but every time I was invited for a meet-up I always refused. I can't explain the chills and the nerves. Many people passed by and I can say for myself that I somehow missed the chance.

MELANCHOLY....

There was this invitation though that I had not resisted. It was from a guy who kept on messaging me ever since September of last year. I really do admit he is so gorgeous. At first, I thought that was just nothing so I just disregarded his message. I do look down at myself as well due to my low self-esteem and that makes the reason for my refusals. He did not message me for a long time and I already had forgotten him. However it was really unexpected on my end that he did message me. I thought that somehow this person is really interested. It really took a long process before I accepted his request to meet him.

We're supposed to meet at an establishment somewhere in San Pedro, Laguna however I don't know for what reason he immediately went home without even having a glance at me. I just don't know why he acted like that? things came in and out of my mind. Was he able to see me and didn't like what he saw? Am I like some monster of some sort? I just wasted my money and my time. I went home....

CONFUSION...

I already addressed my concern to my supervisor. I am planning to resign from my job due to a lot of reasons. First was my health, I think I should rest for a while since I had discovered that Something was wrong with the bone in my neck. Second was that it seems to me that I'm no longer enjoying. I easily get upset when I encounter irate callers and when I can't hit the metrics set. However I do hold back for the thought of the compensation I receive every month. The person higher than my supervisor talked to me as well and requested that I should file my resignation after I'm regularized. I had to think twice, that was my thought. However, this days that had passed and it seemed that I'm already coping up with my working environment. So my resignation letter and is not yet finalized and I'm like crazy as I'm indecisive as of the moment.

so goes life... whew...
